Classification
The copper shark or bronze whaler shark comes from the carcharhinidae family. It has 9 common names in English.
Description
The copper shark has a long,streamlined body with a long,pointed snout. The dorsal fin is tall,when it is fully grown it can weigh up to 304.5 kg and it lives up to 30 years. The appearance of the copper shark has a white belly and a bronze back.


Location
The copper shark lives in temperate waters,it lives around South America,New Zealand,the Mediterranean Sea,Florida and Australia. It can be found in estuaries and brackish rivers.
Dynamics
The diet of the copper shark is a variety of Cephalopods like squid and octopus. They have two predators humans and larger sharks. It also eats stingrays and sawfish. The copper shark will attack humans if disturbed.

Life cycle
The female gives birth between 13 and 20 pups the size between the size of 60cm to 65cm. When it is 13-19 years it has reached maturity. When it turns 20 it is an adult.
Conclusion
The copper shark is near threatened and will attack humans if disturbed. The copper shark can be hard to distinguish from other large carcharhinidae species.
